As with any group of men who form together in a club or Lodge, the welfare of all its members is paramount, so to meet that obligation each Lodge appoints an Almoner whose responsibility it is to care for the members and their close family also the widows of deceased members.
The level of this care is dependent on how the Lodge and its members choose to fund this requirement. An Almoner in generic terms is a person who collates and reports on any given situation that relates to the member’s well being. It includes distributing such things as cards, flowers, attending hospitals & making home visits.
